Walls Go Up for New Pacific Ridge Building

After months of work and planning, a new high school building at Pacific Ridge School in Carlsbad is beginning to take shape. The new building was designed to use as little energy as possible. It has natural lighting for most of its classroom space, natural ventilation in many areas and solar panels. Swinerton Management & Consulting is the Construction Manager on the project.

"We're very, very efficient," said Frank Downey, who is managing the construction for the school. Downey said he expects the campus to get gold or maybe platinum accreditation from Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a certification program for energy efficient buildings.
