Puppet Labs moves into Block 300

The Swinerton Builders Portland team completed a lobby renovation of the Puppet Labs building (including the amazing living wall) and also did the complete built-out of the space. Check it out!

The team at fast-growing Puppet Labs is settling in to its new headquarters in downtown Portland.

About 80 percent of the companies 327 employees are based in its headquarters and at 75,000 square feet there is room to grow.

With the current configuration about 500 people can fit in the space, said PR Manager Justin Dorff. The company has the fifth and sixth floors in the Block 300 building at 308 S.W. Second Ave.

Currently the company, which makes IT automation software, has more than 40 open positions listed on its website.

Moving is never easy and moving more than 200 people really isn't easy, but all has gone smoothly, said Charlotte Caswell, who is CEO Luke Kanies' assistant.

The company worked with CPM One Source for the move, she said. The architect was THA Architect and CBRE was project manager for the move.

The executive required that on day one all the IT in the new office had to work, she said. Sales people had to be able to make calls and the video conferencing had to work.

And it did.

Overall, the move has been well received by employees said Caswell and Dorff. The office was designed for Puppet from the beginning so it doesn't feel inherited the way the last office did, Caswell said.
