Swinerton Names Andrew Pearl as San Francisco Special Projects Division Manager
San Francisco: Swinerton Builders is pleased to announce the promotion of Andrew Pearl to Division Manager for the Special Projects Division in San Francisco.
Andrew brings 15 years of leadership experience in project management, preconstruction and design-build to the company’s dynamic Special Projects division, which covers interiors, tenant improvements, adaptive reuse and seismic retrofitting.
“It’s a tremendous responsibility to take on this division, which is built on such a strong foundation, and be tasked with growing it into the premier Special Projects service provider in San Francisco,” Pearl said. “It’s rewarding, challenging, and so motivating all at the same time.”
“At Swinerton, there’s so much comfort and familiarity that you feel like you’re at home,” Pearl said. “So from day one on this job, which I knew would be my biggest challenge yet, that has really fueled my passion.”
Andrew will oversee a staff of 45 construction professionals from Swinerton’s headquarters in San Francisco, and he will be supported by two existing leaders within the group, Operations Manager Glenn Ashton and Chief Estimator Don Chew.
“Andrew is passionate, focused and committed to the cause of building this company,” Swinerton CEO Jeff Hoopes said. “He has natural talent as team builder and he has a mentality that his work is never finished.”
Andrew joined Swinerton in 2007 as a Project Engineer and worked his way up to Senior Project Manager in San Diego, where he developed trusted relationships with J Street Hospitality, Qualcomm, Marriott, General Atomics and the University of California, San Diego. Andrew also achieved a DBIA certification in 2013 and a LEED® accreditation in 2007. A native of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, Andrew is a diehard fan of the New York Yankees, an avid outdoorsman, and likes to snowboard in his free time.
Andrew moved from San Diego to San Francisco in early 2016, where he established a close relationship with LinkedIn to help complete a $83 million build-out for 19 floors of their San Francisco headquarters.
His first undertaking as Division Manager was to renovate and refresh Swinerton’s San Francisco office, where his team created a bright new workspace.
“I wanted to create an environment that was consolidated and high-energy,” Pearl said. “I wanted everyone on this team to be collaborative and continue to push each other, using that teamwork we have to give everyone the opportunity to grow.”
