Three-year-old with cancer gets to be foreman for a day in S.F.

The news has been pretty dreary lately, so take solace in this bright, happy little story:

On Tuesday, three-year-old Renzo Lombardi from Seaside, Calif., who suffers from Wilm’s tumor, was the recipient of one cute Make-A-Wish dream. Renzo wanted to be a construction foreman for a day.

The Make-A-Wish foundation in conjunction with Swinerton Builders and Trinity Properties arranged for Renzo to visit a construction site at 33 8th St. in San Francisco. After a safety orientation, Renzo got to help operate the heavy machinery and left his tiny handprints in the concrete for posterity.

Throughout his treatment for Wilm's tumor, a form of kidney cancer, Renzo has used play time with his toy trucks, diggers and tools as "therapy," said his mother Crystal. He'll be able to dream a lot bigger now after his big day as foreman.
