Swinerton’s Colorado and Government teams were off to the races this November for the second annual Unser Racing fundraising event, with proceeds benefiting The Swinerton Foundation. More than 30 adrenaline-seeking racers from subcontractor partners and Swinerton employees raced grand prix style, with Swinerton’s own Superintendent Dave Colee taking home first place.
With races going on in the background, more than 100 attendees feasted on barbeque while chatting with coworkers, subcontractors, and new acquaintances. The fun and relaxed atmosphere facilitated new and strengthened relationships throughout the industry’s best.
To amplify the fun and the giving potential, Swinerton’s own Chief Estimator Aaron Townsend served as auctioneer for several “joyride” packages, which included drive time in exotic cars, custom racing jackets, and overnight stays at the Four Seasons Hotel.
Throughout the afternoon, the spirit of giving was evident. In all, the event raised more than $40,000 for The Swinerton Foundation.
As the trophy inscription reads, “Nobody can do everything but EVERYONE can do something,” giving and playing together proved extremely beneficial.
