Swinerton Joins USGBC's Building Health Initiative

Swinerton is excited to be a founding partner in the recently launched Building Health Initiative, a project of the Northern California Chapter of the US Green Building Council that aims to promote the public health benefits of green building. In partnership with other leading regional organizations—including Google, Adobe, Kaiser Permanente, Genentech,, and UCSF—Swinerton is committed to enhancing human health and comfort through the built environment.

The Building Health Initiative’s first task will be to improve procurement standards for greater transparency into the health effects of building materials. The group will also investigate LEED®-certified offices in an effort to measure the health and productivity benefits of green workspaces. A second phase of the initiative will focus on outreach and education to share knowledge, tools, and best practices among partners and the public. With a huge portfolio of LEED projects under our belt and a dedicated team of green building experts, Swinerton is excited to join forces with the USGBC and many of our long-time clients to help build a healthy future!
