#ICYMI Swinerton Completes Refresh at Alvord Arena for Little BitContributor: Swinerton Blogger | October 28, 2016 | Image Gallery »
Earlier this month, 32 Swinerton Seattle team members spent a Saturday afternoon at Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center (Little Bit) to give their Alvord Arena a refresh and construct two new viewing platforms. A proud supporter of Little Bit, Swinerton has partnered with the nonprofit numerous times, including during our companywide Fall Giving Campaign. Last year, Swinerton was honored with a Corporate Strides award for our ongoing support of the Little Bit mission—to improve the lives of adults and children with disabilities through equine-assisted activities and therapy.
During the day, the team removed existing metal siding and plastic corrugated roofing from sheds, installed new metal roofing, siding, and outdoor carpet, and framed and installed new windows. Along with these renovations, the team built two new viewing platforms for visitors to enjoy before heading into the arena. Although it was a long day, the team had a blast working together to complete the job right in time for Little Bit’s soft opening for their project donors.
“The entire Little Bit community cannot thank Swinerton Builders enough for the absolutely generous support provided over the past several years,” said Little Bit Executive Director Jeff Nomura. “On a daily basis, we receive positive feedback from our staff, volunteers, and participants. And to top it off, the entire project came in on time and on budget.”
Special thanks to all volunteers for your time and efforts and for completing a project that community members will enjoy for many years to come.
