Macy’s Walnut Creek Celebrates Grand OpeningContributor: Swinerton Blogger | November 20, 2015 | Image Gallery »
Today, Macy’s Walnut Creek held its official grand opening—just in time for the 2015 holiday season! Located in downtown Walnut Creek, California, Swinerton’s project team kicked off the Macy’s project in March 2014 with a two-story, 60,000-square-foot core and shell expansion to an existing three-story, 180,000-square-foot store. After the on-time delivery of a new loading dock, restrooms, and elevators last November, the project team has continued to meet all major milestones, including several phases of tenant improvements throughout the existing store and in the new expansion.
Each tenant improvement phase in the existing store has consisted of the complete demolition and renovation of existing walls, fixtures and furnishings; cash wraps; floor finishes; ceilings; and lighting. Additional scope included a new employee lounge, office space, ADA upgrades, and a new exterior facade.
The team is proud to deliver a fashionable new store for this major retailer and repeat client in time for the busy season. Once you’ve finished making your list and checking it twice, be sure to head to Macy’s Walnut Creek, the perfect destination to satisfy all of your holiday shopping needs!
Special thanks to the project team: Tony Williamson, Lori Dunn, John Mills, Marlene Moncada, Jared Villarreal, Stephanie Simonds, Julie Merkau, Adam Coll, and Kaylee Knudsen.
