San Diego Strides in Support of AHAContributor: Swinerton Blogger | December 03, 2014
Swinerton employees, friends, and family members recently joined more than 9,000 San Diegans participating in the 23rd Annual San Diego Heart & Stroke Walk in support of the American Heart Association (AHA). Vice President & Division Manager Mark Payne serves on the AHA’s Executive Leadership Committee and the event marked the fifth consecutive year that the San Diego office has actively fundraised and recruited walkers. This year the Swinerton team raised $22,908 toward an event grand total of more than $100,000 in donations!
Taking our fundraising to new creative heights this year, Project Engineer and avid spinner Monika Iannone had the clever idea of hosting a Swinerton-exclusive hour-long spin class at Spark Cycle in La Jolla. The class was a great success with 16 employees taking up the challenge, raising dollars and enthusiasm, for the event. As an added bonus, Spark Cycle adopted the AHA as its charity of the month and their spinners donated over $1,000 dollars on Swinerton’s behalf.
