Swinerton’s Self-Perform Work Shines Front and Center

This past August, Swinerton Builders Hawaii broke ground on a new 103,000-square-foot, single-story Macy’s store, which will be the anchor for the 52-acre Ka Makana Ali`i—a new mall located in the booming and ever-growing city of Kapolei on the west side of Oahu.

On this project, the team preplanned all phases of the concrete self-perform work through the division’s first laser screed: panel placement, the pours for the 79 tilt panels—which were casted directly onto the slab, all steel embed locations, and the picking of the panels. The result was a smooth and timely process. With a completion date scheduled in early July 2016, and a grand opening slated the following fall, the team looks forward to delivering this new store on schedule, to a valued client.
