Topping Out in Buena ParkContributor: Swinerton Project Team | April 04, 2014
Swinerton celebrated the topping out yesterday for The Source at Beach, a massive mixed-use development in Buena Park. At nearly half a million square feet, the project will take up over 12 acres of land near the city’s “Entertainment Zone,” about a half mile from the area’s most famous attraction, Knott’s Berry Farm.
The project includes high-end retail outlets, a seven-story office building, and a 1,200-seat movie theater. Nine buildings will be built in all, including an entertainment center with media walls, glass elevators, and water features. The project also includes the construction of a new 1,900-stall parking structure to handle the influx of visitors. Swinerton is excited to be self-performing almost 10,000 cubic yards of the concrete work on the job!
Swinerton is working with repeat client M+D Properties and NBBJ Architects on the project. The Source at Beach Phase 1 project is set on an ambitious schedule and is expected to be completed in early 2015. Future project phases will include a seven-story, four-star hotel and a condominium tower.
