The largest solar facility in the Midwest is now complete and it was built by Swinerton Renewable Energy (SRE).
At 138 MWdc, North Star Solar will power more than 20,000 homes as part of Minnesota utility, Xcel Energy’s, 15-year plan to reduce carbon emissions and generate a third of its energy from renewable sources by 2020. SRE, alongside valued client, D.E. Shaw, held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the plant’s North Branch site on Wednesday, October 19.
Thank you and congratulations to the entire North Star team on another project well done!
