Giving Thanks, Giving BackContributor: Swinerton Blogger | November 20, 2013
As we approach Thanksgiving and the winter holiday season, Swinerton’s employees are kicking the giving spirit in to high gear with a company-wide Fall Giving Challenge! Each year, in addition to the ongoing work of The Swinerton Foundation, the company organizes a seasonal giving program. This year, employees are engaging is a little friendly competition to see which office can collect the most points—earned through fundraising, donation of goods, and volunteer hours—with points weighted based on the number of employees in each office. The top three offices will chose a charitable organization to receive a check from The Swinerton Foundation.
It’s been a treat to see the creative ways offices are stepping up their generous game. Members of Swinerton’s leadership bravely took a pie in the face at the San Francisco office’s Harvest Fair Fundraiser, while the Silicon Valley team is preparing care packages to send to troops overseas. The San Diego group decided to replace client holiday gifts with donations to The Swinerton Foundation, and our Hawaii office has contributed more than 200 volunteer hours to Habitat for Humanity and other community-based nonprofits. Our team in Concord collected donations for the Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano County. The Fall Giving Challenge runs through November 29, so there’s sure to be more creative giving in the works!
