SILICON VALLEY
HEROES IN ACTION
When Cheryl Johnson was approached by Rebuilding
Together Silicon Valley to join their Board of Directors,
she knew it was a perfect fit. The Silicon Valley team had
participated in the organization’s National Rebuilding Day
for the past seven years so she knew firsthand the value of
the work they provide and she knew the Swinerton team was
committed to furthering their mission to improve the safety
and health of community members’ homes.
Rebuilding Day is a home repair blitz, usually held on the
last Saturday in April each year. It is an opportunity for
volunteers to provide both major and minor repairs and
renovations that result in life-changing improvements for the
homeowners and organizations served. Swinerton volunteers
are always eager to roll up their sleeves for this worthy
cause. On April 17, the Swinerton crew arrived to get to
work. They spent the day providing renovations to a home
that included adding shutters, painting, installing a new
doorbell, and landscaping the front yard. The difference
made to the home was incredible due to all of the hard work
provided by Swinerton hands.
