Breaking Ground at St. Francis Liliha Kupuna
This summer, Swinerton broke ground at the St. Francis Liliha Campus for the Phase 2 renovation of the Liliha Kupuna Village in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Liliha Kupuna Village is the newest development for St. Francis Healthcare System, which will aim to provide a new assisted living facility for Honolulu’s growing senior population. Phase 2 renovations will consist of five separate projects that include the renovation of the courtyard and Well Center, a new core and shell of the Mother Marianne Building, façade renovations to the Sullivan building along with a new entry and porte cochere, and the demolition of a Materials Management Building.
The project also includes an additional Phase 3 that consists of the demolition of the EVS Building and central plant, as well as construction of a new three-story superstructure to accommodate the expansion of the assisted living facility, new chiller plant, electrical systems, and boiler. Phase 2 is expected to complete in quarter one of 2018 with Phase 3 starting midway of Phase 2 this December. The project is expected to complete in quarter three of 2018.
