Celebrations: What’s the Password?
In January, the Swinerton Builders Colorado and Government divisions celebrated Swinerton’s 125-year history and each division’s expected success in 2014, while kicking off the New Year in swinging style. The “Swinsational” event was held at the Sherman Street Event Center, a magnificent building built in 1906 for the Colorado Shriners. Discretion was paramount as guests assumed aliases and transformed the venue into a 1920s speakeasy—including a bouncer who required passwords at the door. Dressed in their finest threads and gems, all the guys and dolls enjoyed the music of an eight-piece band, cocktails, dinner, and casino tables including blackjack, craps, poker, and roulette. President Gary Rafferty and his wife Nona even joined in on the fun. General Manager David White and Division Managers Ray Haj and Scott Conrad addressed the crowd and handed out awards, one of which was for best dressed. Congratulations to the best-dressed couple, Superintendent Dave Colee and his wife!
