A Dynamic Office, Safer Science
Swinerton Builders Northwest recently completed a 41,000-square-foot office renovation for the Western Institutional Review Board. Known as WIRB, this organization works to protect the rights and welfare of human research subjects around the world.
Located near Tacoma in South Hill, Washington, WIRB’s new headquarters combines industrial and modern design in an open office concept. Exposed steel beams, textured wood, clean lines, and bold color create an energetic interior, while innovative technology makes this a highly functional, one-of-a-kind space.
Working closely with Interior Architects, the project team was able to meet the tight schedule and produce a truly beautiful space. The highlight of the project is the 6-footwide, 10-foot-high glass panels with unique photo appliqué that form artistic separation walls to support traffic flow.
Congratulations to the project team: Project Executive Derek Jaschke, Superintendent Leland Sutton, Senior Project Engineer Chad Tonge, Project Coordinator Judith Helt, and Division Manager Dave Worley.
