HEROES IN ACTION
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the central
nervous system that disrupts the flow of information
within the brain, and between the brain and body.
More than 2.3 million people are affected by MS
worldwide, yet the cause is largely unknown. It is an
unpredictable disease, and the severity of symptoms
varies from patient to patient.
The National MS Society helps each person affected
by MS address the challenges of living with the
disease. The society raises funds for cutting-edge
research, driving change through advocacy,
facilitating professional education, and providing
programs and services that empower people with MS
and their families to move their lives forward.
The Bike MS series is the largest fundraising bike
event in the world. Each year, 100,000 cyclists raise
over $2 million for the National MS Society. Project
Executive David Wade has participated in the Bike
MS Bay to Bay Tour for the past eight years. The
two-day bike ride spans 100 miles from Irvine to
San Diego.
The Swinerton Foundation was proud to support
David in his efforts to raise $1,000 for such a
great cause!
