Winter 2011The holidays are a time for traditions. Whether it’s a secret recipe made only during the holiday season or a gift exchange that keeps you laughing throughout the year, holiday traditions never disappoint and create lasting memories. The same is true for time-honored construction traditions. Consider one of the industry’s oldest, a topping out ceremony. For one project team, the celebration could include a tree flying high in the sky atop a signed steel beam; while for another it may mean an all-you-can-eat BBQ feast with the entire crew.
Whatever your tradition at home or work, celebrate it this season and in the New Year that follows. If you don’t have one, make one – there is no time like the present to get one started – and keep it going. No matter how fast life flies by, remember to slow down once in a while to celebrate your success and make it a habit or, even better, a tradition.
Keeping that in mind, let’s make it a tradition to sit down with the Swinerton Quarterly. Whether you read it during your commute to work on the train or during the weekend over a cup of coffee, it is up to you to make this one your own.
Wishing you the best memories yet this holiday season!
