Swinerton demolished an existing school building and built a new 71,800-square-foot, two-story facility. Construction systems include structural steel, slab-on-metal-deck, and steel truss framing at roof. Madrona Elementary School is the first of 15 schools to receive airport noise mitigation work funded through an agreement with the Port of Seattle and the Federal Aviation Administration.
