This project represents the renovation of the Milton Meyer Recreation Center to create a Boys & Girls Club clubhouse, as well as the renovation and expansion of the existing on-site Police Office.
This two-building site includes new office space, a community room, a games room, a cafe, a dance studio, an art studio, a teen center, an education center, a multimedia center, a courtyard/amphitheater area and a gymnasium.
This clubhouse will allow for improvements in services offered to community youth, including gang intervention and prevention programs, homework assistance and college preparatory programs, art programs, and expanded recreational opportunities.
This project, funded in part by the Mayor's Office of Community Development, was managed with a CM-Multiple Prime delivery method.
Awarded the Best of 2008 "Restoration" Merit Award by California Construction magazine.
