Stone Oak Library Truly a Community Effort

Dan Parman, a businessman who originally developed Stone Oak, is seeing the blossoming of another fruit of his labor in the fast-growing, master-planned San Antonio community. A standalone public library in his honor will go up at Wilderness Oak near Blanco Road.

Scheduled to open in 2011, the new SAPL branch will measure 17,000 square feet over a 10-acre tract that Parman's family foundation donated to the city to accommodate the library. Funds for the $7 million project, headed by contractors Lyda Swinerton and Marmon Mok, will come from the city's voter-approved 2007 bond package and certificates of obligation.
