Autodesk BIM 360 Glue Helps Streamline Design and Construction Processes

Autodesk, Inc.  is launching a new version of Autodesk BIM 360 Glue, a cloud-based Building Information Modeling (BIM) solution. Autodesk BIM 360 Glue is an innovative management software solution that extends the BIM process from design to the construction stage by providing access to project information for model coordination and clash detection to all project stakeholders via desktop, mobile and web.

Extended project design and construction teams can better coordinate and communicate with one-click access to review the latest project models and run clashes in real-time, saving time and money on design and construction projects. The introduction of mobile devices into the construction industry is transforming the way that projects are built and managed. With BIM 360 Glue, enhanced cloud-based collaboration and mobile access helps ensure that the entire project team can participate in the coordination process, minimizing the coordination cycles and providing teams with tools to view the designs wherever they are located.

“We have found that BIM 360 Glue has considerably shortened the amount of time needed to perform building system coordination,” said James McKenzie Director-Center for Excellence, Swinerton Incorporated. “Usage of BIM 360 Glue now means that we can focus on clash avoidance using our experienced field personnel rather than relying on an automated clash detection process that often times results in an enormous amount of false clashes that needed to be sorted out. This clash avoidance helps project stake holders have an intimate knowledge of the building in a relatively short amount of time.”
