Dave Callis named to Swinerton Executive Team

Swinerton is pleased to welcome Dave Callis to the Executive Committee.

Dave is currently the Senior Vice President and Southern California Region Manager, and will gradually assume corporate responsibilities focused on strategic and organizational direction.

Dave joined the Swinerton organization in 2001 as a Senior Project Manager for the Orange County Division, where he later held the positions of Project Executive, Operations Manager, and Vice President, Division Manager. In 2016, he was promoted to Region Manager of the Southern California team and in 2017 he was elected a Senior Vice President and appointed to the Swinerton Incorporated Board of Directors. As Region Manager, Dave oversees Division offices in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Portland, and Seattle.

Dave received his Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering from Long Beach State in 1988. Before coming to Swinerton, Dave worked at MBK and Kitchell Contractors. Dave was named Swinerton’s Orange County Division Manager in 2004 and then became Orange County and Los Angeles Division Manager in 2013.

Dave has 30 years of experience in construction, ranging from managing all aspects of preconstruction and construction. Dave has had a hand in the delivery of some of Southern California’s most impactful community projects, including the Laguna Beach Community Center, Fullerton Community Center, the High Desert Medical Center in Lancaster, and extensive work at John Wayne Airport.

Dave is particularly skilled in his thorough knowledge of construction practices, codes, scheduling, estimating, budget preparation, value engineering and constructability reviews. Dave is also well-versed in business development and maintaining client relationships, interviews, presentations and final contract negotiations. He also has experience in managing all aspects of division personnel, including hiring, project assignment, training and development.
