IEC and Hispanic Contractors of Colorado Team Up For 2014 GC Forum

On Wednesday, June 18th, 70 local construction professionals attended the 2014 GC Managing Expectations Forum, a construction industry event and panel discussion co-hosted annually by IECRM and Hispanic Contractors of Colorado.

The event was held at the Tailgate Roadhouse, and was supported by Premier Sponsor, CNA Insurance and additional sponsors, Allcable, Inc. and Bauerle and Company, P.C.

Moderating the evening’s panel discussion was Leneé Koch, Vice President and Co-Founder of LEI Companies, Inc.,  an electrical contractor based in Denver. Koch, a passionate advocate for the advancement of women and minorities within the construction industry, is a member of the City and County of Denver’s Construction Empowerment Initiative (CEI) advisory committee, a 2012 winner of the Denver Business Journal “Forty Under 40” Awards, and is a University of Denver alum.

The panelists included four key General Contractors that are working on large projects important to the Rocky Mountain region: Adolfson & Peterson Construction, GE Johnson Construction, Sky Blue Builders, and Swinerton Builders.

The Tailgate Roadhouse is owned by the Pepsi Center and is a select venue for private events. The space includes 30 HD flat screen televisions, two levels, ample parking, and is centrally located beside the Pepsi Center in downtown Denver.

“We appreciate a downtown Denver event space that can accommodate our construction industry events,” said Kristin Kim Haynes, IECRM COO. “Tailgate Roadhouse is a great private event space with enough elbow room to make the networking-focused cocktail hour comfortable, and the educational panel discussion impactful.”

Notable guests at the event were: 1st Electric Contractors, Inc., Blueprint Skilled Services, LLC, Kiewit Infrastructure, and United Rentals.
