Swinerton Builders Wins Denver International Airport Parking Structure Contract

Swinerton Builders has won a contract to lead the design-build construction of a parking structure at Denver International Airport (DIA) in Colorado.

The design-build team was awarded the contract by DIA following a two-phase, best-value selection process.

The new parking structure, on the east side Jeppesen Terminal of the airport, is being designed by Walker Parking Consultants.

The cast-in-place concrete structure will rise four stories. Following completion of its construction, the number of public parking spaces in the airport will be raised by 1,795.

Swinerton will start construction of the facility in February. Construction work is projected to be over by about two years at a cost of nearly $46m.

The project will be funded through the airport's capital improvement project fund.

With the new structure, DIA will offer a total of 19,496 garage parking spaces, and will manage a total of 43,275 parking spaces.
