Swinerton Unveils Website for Solar Power Plant Monitoring Platform
The Swinerton Renewable Energy group saw a need for a better solar power plant monitoring platform.
Swinerton Renewable Energy, a division of Swinerton Builders and one of the largest solar EPC, O&M and technical services providers in North America, rolled out a new public website today for its utility-scale solar power facility monitoring platform, SOLV™, aka Solar Operations Live View (www.SOLVSolar.com). The website launch marks the culmination of a year of software development and product enhancements in functionality and reporting. Customizable SOLV monitoring is currently operational on over 140 MWac of solar power plants and is under contract to operate and monitor over 250 MWac by the end of 2013.
“Solar developers, asset managers, and investors are searching for a path forward to monetize the solar asset,” said George Hershman, vice president of Swinerton Renewable Energy. “Swinerton already is leading the industry with SOLV, and this website launch will bring its benefits to a larger audience.” Utility-scale solar sites require sophisticated monitoring, reporting, and diagnostic capabilities to deliver expected energy production. SOLV provides fine granularity on plant data analysis and optimization, from plant availability to production estimates.
“Over the past year, Swinerton involved many nationally known solar developers and owners as we fine-tuned functionality and reporting capabilities,” explains Angelo Purpura, manager of Technical Services for Swinerton Renewable Energy. “Features like an ‘ad hoc’ reporting tool are very beneficial to both the solar power asset managers and our O&M field technicians. This is an amazing tool for the many end users of solar plant data.”
