535 Mission Takes Another Win!

After a grueling awards submission process, Swinerton is excited to share our 535 Mission Street project was selected as the Best Project in the Office/Retail/Mixed-Use category by ENR California! The award-winning project was also selected as the best new office project in the San Francisco Business Times’ annual Real Estate Deals of the Year awards earlier this year.

Located in San Francisco’s SoMa district, the architecturally-distinct, 28-story, 350,000-square-foot, Class A, steel-framed office building is the first office tower completed in the city since the 2008 recession. The tower was artistically designed as a slender, graceful urban form with tapered façade corners and a unitized curtain wall system for its exterior skin. Its location plays a significant role in pedestrian movement to and from the new Transbay Transit Center—the main transportation center for the downtown area currently in construction. Mindful of the expected influx of tenants, visitors, and neighbors, this dynamic tower includes 3,700 square feet of ground floor retail space and the conversion of adjacent Shaw Alley into a city park—a vibrant public thoroughfare along the south side of the building. Targeted for LEED® Platinum certification, this will be the first office building in San Francisco to achieve a Platinum Core and Shell rating.

Working closely with Boston Properties and architect HOK, Swinerton was able to transform a two-dimensional architectural vision into the three-dimensional office tower.

Congratulations to the project team on a job well done! Special thanks to the entire team for your tremendous efforts and detailed expertise on this award-winning project!
