Achieving High Concrete Goals at 808Futsal

Swinerton Builders Hawaii recently completed a significant milestone at the 808Futsal project in Kapolei, Hawaii. The Hawaii team’s first design-build project, 808Futsal will also become Hawaii’s first-ever futsal facility that will include three futsal courts. As the sport of fustal (a modified form of soccer played with five players per side on a smaller, typically indoor, field) continues to grow, 808Futsal will provide a convenient venue for Hawaii Fustal leagues to hold events. The new construction of 808Futsal has also sparked national and global interest as a possible venue to hold tournaments at in Hawaii.

In early February the project team successfully completed the 32,500-square-foot concrete slab. The team utilized the precision of the concrete laser screed machine to ensure a flat surface for the entire slab. Swinerton’s own Labor Foreman Amy Clarke took controls of the concrete laser screed and guided her crew of concrete laborers through the entire 32,500-square-foot slab-on-grade. Thanks to another solid performance with the laser screed, Swinerton continues to set the bar high by using the latest technology on our projects. The concrete laser screed is just one of the many construction technology tools implemented by Swinerton to ensure high quality
concrete work.

With great anticipation, 808Futsal is scheduled to complete in August 2016.
