Building Better Places

Last month, Swinerton’s Director of Sustainability Adhamina Rodriguez joined a panel discussion with other experts in sustainable construction, real estate and public policy at the University of California Los Angeles’ “Building Better Places” Green Building Symposium.

Hosted by the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate and the Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, the event explored topics such as financial incentives for landlords to obtain LEED and EnergyStar certification, the possibility of a “Double Net Zero Home” (combining the best of energy and water efficiency techniques), and the potential impact of new state legislation on sustainable building.
