Charitable Efforts Strong in San Diego

Earlier this year, Swinerton Builders San Diego held a blood drive from their office parking lot. In all 22 team members donated blood—six of which were first-time donors. Giving blood is one of the easiest ways to help people in need. From donations solely from the San Diego office alone, the team will touch the lives of at least 54 people!

With a goal of hosting an annual blood drive with as many donors as possible, this is the second blood drive hosted by the San Diego team within the past year. At each blood drive the team invites local subcontractors and community members in addition to all office employees. Those who participated took great comfort knowing they were helping others; they were also treated to free Hawaiian shaved ice from SnoCal Shaved Ice! This year’s event was a great success, but it was just a drop in the bucket. The team hopes to do even better next year, with a goal of doubling their efforts.

In addition to their annual blood drive, the San Diego office is a proud member of the American Heart Association (AHA). Every year they sponsor AHA’s Go Red for Women Luncheon, an annual fundraising event for the Association. The office also takes part in their Heart Walk every fall, AHA’s premier event to raise money and awareness for heart disease and stroke.

If you haven’t given blood in a while, the team urges you to consider donating in the near future. In doing so, you can help save the life of someone in need.
