Swinerton is proud to celebrate the ribbon-cutting for the Sycuan Casino Resort in El Cajon, California.
Working with the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, a longtime trusted partner with Swinerton, this transformative 458,098-square-foot expansion provides the community with a new 12-story hotel, eight new restaurants including San Diego’s newest destination restaurant “Bull and Bourbon”, new meeting spaces, and expanded gaming options.
A $245 million project designed by Hnedak Bobo Group, Swinerton expanded and remodeled the existing Sycuan Casino, and constructed a new hotel with exceptional amenities, including new swimming pools, a spa, and a lazy river. Construction also included a new conference and events center.
“We are so honored to be a part of this expansion, bringing opportunity to the local community and bringing more prosperity to the Sycuan Band,” said Mark Payne, Division Manager for Swinerton San Diego. “This new hotel will be an exceptional cornerstone for the community for decades to come.”
Working in a fully occupied site, the Swinerton team was proud to ensure that the existing casino remained open and active for the entire duration of the project.
Swinerton was proud to partner with the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation to make a major community impact, as this expansion will create over 700 new casino and resort jobs.
