We are Swinerton, We are One

When The Swinerton Foundation started the Fall Giving Challenge three years ago, the intent was to boost participation and increase our charitable giving by creating a friendly competition between our offices. Little did we know just how competitive our offices could be! In the very first year of the Fall Giving Challenge, we saw 10 times the amount of monetary contributions and more goods were donated than ever before.

This year, the Foundation charged each office to offer assistance to our cities’ most vulnerable citizens while setting specific companywide goals to evaluate the impact of our giving. Although the competition is fun and friendly, setting these goals has helped us keep in mind that our giving is able to reach many geographies, many people, and many communities:

–Collect 6,000 lbs. of food, which will provide 5,000 meals to our hungry neighbors

–Collect jackets and socks to clothe 500 homeless and disadvantaged individuals

–Donate 1,000 hours to local non-profits, which will provide food and clothing to those in need; non-profits may include food banks,
meal service, and social service organizations

–Donate $50,000 to local non-profits that support programs which address food scarcity, homelessness, and provide assistance to
  seniors and adults with disabilities.

Now in our fourth week of the Challenge, we are happy to report that we have surpassed our goals to collect food and clothing, are over halfway to our volunteerism goal, and need only $5,000 more to meet our goal to donate $50,000 to local non-profits.

Winners of the Challenge will be announced on December 5, so stay tuned!
