Austin Pitches in for ACE Mentoring

In early May, Swinerton Builders Texas Division Manager Bret Hall was on hand to present a scholarship to one lucky student at ACE Mentors. The students were on hand to give final presentations for their work on the project titled “Mega: A Tall Building for the 21st Century.”

Ace Mentors is a nationwide program designed to introduce students to the wide range of career opportunities open to young people in architecture, construction, engineering, and related areas of the building design and construction industry. At weekly meetings, student teams work directly with professionals from leading area firms, who volunteer their time to mentor the teams as they design hypothetical projects, tour local construction sites, and visit architectural, engineering and construction offices.

The Swinerton Foundation was a sponsor of this event, along with the University of Texas’ School of Engineering, the UT School of Architecture, and the Construction Industry Institute.
