This February, Swinerton was awarded the 21-story steel framed Genesis North Tower in South San Francisco, assuming the job in progress from another general contractor. With only the foundation and anchor bolts previously installed on the approximately three-acre site, the team has made impressive progress, working closely with subcontractors and a 200-foot high tower crane to erect nine of 21 steel levels.

Ironworkers, deckers, and welders file in quickly after each floor is erected to keep trade work on schedule. When completed, the tower will house offices, conference rooms, labs and a podium building with gym space and retail on the ground floor.

Following the tower’s completion, the team hopes to continue work on site constructing the extensive tenant improvement packages. In addition, they are also beginning the preconstruction phase for a proposed hotel nestled between the existing South Tower and soon-to-be-constructed North Tower.
